Balloon carts

We made balloon carts to show how air pressure can move an object.  We are learning about push and pull forces in science.

Mr White's chicken visit Room 9

Mr White brought two of his chickens in to show the children. They were a few days old.
They were very cute and were happy to run around on the carpet.....with only one mess!!!!
The children know to be quiet when we have animals in class as loud noises can frighten them.

Iley's 7th birthday

Iley's dad made this amazing balloon birthday cake for her and her mum brought in lots of yummy food for all of us in Room 9 to share and celebrate Iley's birthday. We had a great party and Mason suggested we sing a waiata to thank Iley and her whanau for their generous sharing, whanaunatanga.  And we did.

Jade's sourdough pancakes

Jade made sourdough pancakes and brought them along to school to share. The pancakes had an ingredient called sourdough in them that was at least 113 years old!!!!

Joseph's birthday

This week Joseph was 7! We celebrated his birthday with a class party. YUM!

Our visit to the Twizel Memorial

This week were we discussing the meaning of A.N.Z.A.C.
